Statement of Purpose of the The Graduate Student Organization (GSO)
The GSO is an organization of graduate students that assists with departmental functions, seminars, and hosting social events to bring the faculty, staff, and students together as a community. In recent years, the GSO has focused on professional development events for the graduate student body as part of a concerted effort with the department to enable student success after graduation.
Our department understands the origins of great discoveries and advancement comes from building strong communal bonds where faculty, staff, and students have a strong personal investment in each other not only to bring out the highest quality of research but to empower each other to devise solutions to change the world. We hope you can join us!
