Problem 3:  Run the script <a href=homework3_3.m>homework3_3.m</a>.  Pay attention to how I use the matlab routines <tt>polyfit</tt>, <tt>roots</tt>, and <tt>polyder</tt> to determine the minimum of the curve and the force constant.<p>

Problem 6:  (Not assigned)  Note that the wording of the 2nd part of this problem has been changed in the 
latest version of <a href=../Chap4.pdf>Chap3</a>.  Run the script 
<a href="../matlab_files/harmonic_oscillator_functions_3.m>harmonic_oscillator_matrix_elements.m"</a>.  This
will generate the full matrix of <i>x</i><sup>4</sup> (<tt>x4mat</tt>).  Fit the diagonal elements of this matrix (multiplied by &alpha;<sup>4</sup>) to a power series
in (v+1/2).<p>
