The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) is dedicated to building an eminent cadre of people of color in science and technology In pursuit of this mission NOBCChE initiates and supports local, regional, national, and global programs that assist people of color in fully realizing their potential in academic, professional, and entrepreneurial pursuits in chemistry, chemical engineering, and related fields.
NOBCChE-UMD was founded in 2005 by individuals who recognized the necessity for an association whose primary purpose was to serve the needs of black scientists and engineers. Our student chapter of NOBCChE would like to invite you to become a member. Our organization is open to both Undergraduate and Graduate Students and people of all ethnicities. Membership

Membership in the organization is open to any person who supports and is willing to work to attain the objectives of the organization. Membership is not limited to any race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, disability, or status as a disabled or Vietnam-era veteran. Our fiscal year begins on July 1st of every year, which requires renewal of membership annually after that date. The current President and other NOBCChE-UMD Executive members serve for a period of ONE YEAR (to end August 31, 2017). The next General Elections will be held by May 2017 to appoint officers who shall begin a term September 1, 2017 until August 31, 2018.
